£82,000 awarded for "outrageous and discriminatory" comments

An administrative assistant has been awarded £82,000 in damages after winning numerous claims for racial and gender-related harassment.

She was of Pakistani origin and the comments started when her boss expressed disappointment his daughter had married a Pakistani man. Despite asking her boss not to talk to her like that, the comments continued over a period of time, describing her fiancé as “… the small little dude? He is an idiot, is he a [p***] too?” and calling her “Kamini” which meant “bitch” in Urdu.

As the bullying and harassment continued, she resigned and brought her successful claims.
