A clerical worker suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis was awarded £45,000 for unfair dismissal, loss of earnings and damage to feelings after her employer failed to make the necessary adjustments for her to work.
She had repeatedly asked for voice recognition software to be installed on her computer to reduce the amount of typing she needed to do. The software was eventually installed, but only after two years during which time she took multiple periods of sick leave because of the pain in her hands. The Employment Tribunal ruled she had been subject to unlawful discrimination, “not least in the prolonged failure to make reasonable adjustments”.
This is an expensive warning to employer to deal with requests to make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees in a timely manner.
Choosing the right ventilation system depends on several factors, including the building layout, size, climate, and specific air quality requirements. Common types include natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation, and hybrid systems. Natural ventilation utilizes windows, vents, and airflow patterns to circulate air, while mechanical systems use fans and ductwork to control airflow more precisely. Hybrid systems combine the benefits of both, offering flexibility and improved control. Additionally, smart ventilation systems integrated with sensors and automation technology are gaining popularity for their ability to adjust air exchange rates based on occupancy, air quality levels, or time of day, further optimizing energy use and air freshness.

I love that they allow fresh air to flow through while keeping bugs and intruders out. Plus, they still look stylish and don’t block the view. Definitely a smart investment for any home.

A Blade Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) is a vital safety device designed to protect workers and drivers from potential collisions in construction zones or highway work areas. This device is mounted on the rear of a vehicle, often a truck, and functions as a barrier to absorb the impact of a rear-end collision, reducing the risk of injury to personnel working in or near active roadwork zones. The Blade TMA is engineered with high-quality materials such as crushable materials or energy-absorbing foam, blade truck mounted attenuator which help to dissipate the energy from an impact and minimize the damage.
