With more snow forecast tonight, we had an enquiry about what happens to employee’s pay if the workplace is shut due to bad weather. The position is that if they don’t usually work from home, then they are entitled to be paid as normal (assuming they could actually get into work).
That said, with the right contract or policy in place, employers might be able to ask them to go to another workplace or work from home.
