The Government's "Good Work Plan"

The Government has announced a number of changes and new laws to provide new protections for employees and workers.

These include:

1. Right for all workers to request a “more stable” contract

2. Extending the right to written particulars and pay slips to all workers, including casual and zero hours

3. More clarity on employment status

4. Making it easier to show continuity of employment

5. New protections for gig economy workers

6. Holiday rights for seasonal, casual and zero hours workers

7. Protections for agency workers

8. A new state enforcement scheme for holiday pay

9. Stronger punishments for employers who ignore tribunal judgments.
