Whistleblowing: amendments to the list of prescribed persons

A whistleblowing disclosure may be protected where it is made to a person prescribed to receive disclosures about the matters concerned (a prescribed person) and certain requirements are met.

The Public Interest Disclosure (Prescribed Persons) (Amendment) Order 2016 (SI 2016/968) will amend the statutory list of prescribed persons with effect from 1 November 2016 to include a small number of new bodies, in relation to best value, Food Standards Scotland, the Older People's Commissioner for Wales, Qualifications Wales and Wales Audit Office.
