Mental Health issues cost business 10% in the last four years


Mental health is the second biggest reason for absence in the UK, and, according to a new report by Firstcare. In 2012 businesses lost an average of £854 per employee but this has increased by 10% to £942.

Last month a report from the CIPD found that more than three people in ten (31 percent) have experienced mental health problems while in employment. This figure is higher for female employees at 36 percent and 46 percent in respect of people working in the voluntary sector.
